This is a role which has been created to ensure that there is support within the community for young people. This is an extremely specialised position as you will be focusedon working with secondary and upper primary school children. You will be interacting with children in schools on a daily basis in both a group and individual setting. You willdo this both within the classroom and on break times where there will be specific projects set up where you will meet with pupils in a more informal setting. The main aim of the role is to try to educate young children on activities they can take part in in their spare time and also provide an informal setting in which they can discuss any problems etc they may have.
The main part of the role will be the above, however at weekends and evenings you will be involved in other community warden duties such as working within the community visiting and speaking to tenants with regards to issues such as environmental and anti social behaviour.
This is an exciting and challenging position which would be excellent for any candidate with experience of youth work. You must be an excellent team player and an enhanced disclosure will be required to be carried out for this position. A driving licence is also an essential for this position.
