Are you a senior tax professional looking to work in a PLC environment?
Role description:
This is a senior position which will see you working closely with both the Group Head of Taxation and the Group Finance Director. You will be a key member of this dynamic and highly skilled team.
The role would be involved in all areas of the Group's tax strategy and tax planning including:
• Dealing with international tax issues and tax structuring projects regarding the Group's US and Canadian businesses including liaison with the outsourced US tax function
• Providing guidance and support to the taxation managers
• Partnering with the business, providing tax consulting and compliance support
• Otherwise aiding the Group Tax Director as required
As well as having clearly defined core responsibilities, we are seeking an individual with the versatility and drive to proactivelytake on new tasks working within a team environment.
The position is based in Perth although some travel to other business locations in the UK and worldwide may be required from time to time.
Who we're looking for:
The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified, and possess the following qualifications, skills and experience:
• A relevant accounting, taxation or commercial qualification
• Strong tax technical skills and significant taxation and accounting experience from working within a taxation role in a large plc environment or a Big 4 firm
• Good attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and to deadlines within a plc environment
• An understanding of the Plc level accounting and reporting processes would be desirable
• The ability to analyse complex matters, presenting solutions in an easily understood yet accurate way will be important
• Experienced in structuring and implementing complex tax driven financing and restructuring projects
• Both practical and high level experience of international tax issues, particularly cross-border issues and repatriation techniques predominately with the US
• Capable of producing routine tax computations and returns and a good understanding of Group arrangements.
• Sufficient skills and experience to manage senior taxation professionals and to work with other senior business and finance managers
